For 8 years Lady Patricia Wideman has been running a Back to School Supply Giveaway for children on the East Side of Buffalo. Ms. Wideman finds joy in giving to her community every year with her organization Ladies Let’s B.E.R.E.A.L. When asked why she gives school supplies, her response was “I know first-hand what it is to be a single mother. I know the feeling of not being able to stretch the money far enough to pay for things like school supplies.” Helping children be prepared for school and offering relief to overwhelmed parents is her pleasure. With the exception of one year, she’s run this giveaway at the AACC because this is the place that poured so much into her. On August 29th, Lady Patricia successfully gave away 130 backpacks filled with supplies prepackaged for students from Pre-K to 12th grade. Her generosity doesn’t stop there, soon she’ll be preparing for her annual toy giveaway in December!
