Erie County Comptroller’s December 2025
Cultural Funding Grant Monitoring Report
January 14, Buffalo, NY – The African American Cultural Center (AACC) acknowledges the recent Erie County audit and a December 2025 report addressing the allocation and use of grant funds awarded to the organization between 2020 and 2022, a period preceding the organization’s current leadership. With the appointment of Executive Director Dr. Leah Angel Daniel in 2023 and a newly seated board of directors as of November 2025, AACC is committed to upholding robust governance practices, as well as a strengthened dedication to transparency. The organization is actively collaborating with Erie County officials and Comptroller Hardwick to address and resolve the findings from the 2025 report, while remaining focused on delivering important cultural, educational and community programs that have long defined AACC’s mission.
About the African American Cultural Center

What began as a small gathering space for artistic and spiritual expression has evolved into a cornerstone institution dedicated to celebrating and preserving African and African American heritage.
