ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Yao Kahlil Newkirk is a native of Buffalo, NY. He is a well-rounded practitioner of the Arts with an MA in Theatre Performance and current PhD student of Transnational Studies at the University of Buffalo. His work focuses on "Origin Stories", and transracial/intra-racial identities. As Artistic Director of the historical Paul Robeson Theatre, Yao Kahlil is excited to showcase the local talent of WNY.

Jacqueline Cherry

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DANCE

Jacqueline earned her Bachelor's degree in Dance and Theater at Buffalo State College. As an actor she played various roles in several plays at Alleyway Theatre and Ujima Company. Currently, Jacqueline is completing a Master of Fine Arts in Dance at the University at Buffalo and had recently accepted a position at The African American Cultural Center as Assistant Director of Dance. Because of her interest in sociology, performance theory, and artist activism, Jacqueline is inspired to create compelling works.
