Afro Fusion Dance Class
with Nahiem Paris
Sunday, April 19 & Sunday, April 26 at 1:00 pm

Join Kakilambe company member and dance/theatre artist Nahiem Paris for an energetic and dynamic Afro Fusion class at the African American Cultural Center. Learn a combination of traditional and contemporary movements. Build confidence, feel the rhythm, and have fun!

All ages and experience levels are welcome. Bring water, and come dressed to move. (No outside shoes allowed on the dance floor.)

Acting Workshop
"Embodying Ancestry" with Nahiem Paris
A Viewpoints Exploration of Memory, Spirit, and Journey

Wednesday, April 22 at 10:00 am

Inspired by the themes of legacy, spiritual inheritance, and personal discovery in Michelle Tyrene Johnson's new play THE QUEST(ION), participants will investigate how the past lives within the present body.

 

Using Viewpoints as a foundation, this session blends physical improvisation with imaginative storytelling to explore both real and surreal spaces, mirroring the play’s use of magical realism.

Acting Workshop
"The Story Travelers" with Mary Craig
Because we have a story to tell.
Wednesday, April 22 at 5:30 pm

This interactive theatre workshop will include a quest walk, exploration of ancestor voices, magical realism improvisation, and scene work.

Inspired by the themes of Michelle Tyrene Johnson's play The Quest(ion), this workshop will encourage participants to explore their own stories through embodied movement and reflection.

​

All experience levels are welcome. Ages 13+

Acting Workshop
"Exploring Identity through Performance" with Ebony Pace
Saturday, April 25 at 10:00 am

This interactive theatre workshop is designed to help participants explore personal and cultural identity through creative expression. Using acting exercises and storytelling; participants will gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others in a safe, inclusive environment.

 

The workshop emphasizes self-awareness, confidence-building, and community connection while honoring diverse lived experiences.
